Hong Kong Customs yesterday (April 3) seized about 5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated market value of about $2.8 million at Hong Kong International Airport.

Customs officers inspected a parcel from Malaysia and seized the suspected methamphetamine from three plastic bottles labelled as containing seasoning sauce.

After a follow-up investigation, Customs officers also yesterday arrested two 33-year-old men suspected to be related to the case in Yau Ma Tei.

Investigation is ongoing.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
