Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected cocaine (with photo)

Hong Kong Customs seized about 24 grams of suspected cocaine at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal yesterday (September 13). The market value was about $28,000.

Customs officers found about 24g of suspected cocaine on an outgoing female passenger during routine clearance at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal yesterday evening.

The arrested woman, aged 25 and claiming to be unemployed, was charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug. She will appear at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (September 15).

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
