Hong Kong Customs seizes heroin at Shenzhen Bay Control Point (with photo)

Hong Kong Customs today (December 18) seized about 670 grammes of suspected heroin at Shenzhen Bay Control Point and arrested a woman. The market value of the drugs was about $510,000.

Customs officers intercepted the woman for examination at Shenzhen Bay Control Point upon her departure from Hong Kong this morning. A total of around 670 grammes of suspected heroin were found in the handbag she was carrying. The 31-year-old woman was arrested for suspected drug trafficking. The case is still under investigation.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
