Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine at Lok Ma Chau Control Point (with photos)

Hong Kong Customs today (November 10) seized about one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine at Lok Ma Chau Control Point and arrested a 17-year-old man. The market value of the drug was about $430,000.

The arrested person, who was an incoming passenger at Lok Ma Chau Control Point, was found carrying about one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine on his body and inside a power socket extension unit while conducting customs clearance this morning.

The man, claimed as unemployed, was arrested for suspected drug trafficking and will appear at Fanling Magistracy tomorrow (November 11).

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
