Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine at Lok Ma Chau Control Point (with photos)

Hong Kong Customs today (November 8) seized around one kilogramme of suspected methamphetamine at Lok Ma Chau Control Point with a male arrested. The market value of the drugs was about $430,000.

Customs officers intercepted an incoming male passenger at Lok Ma Chau Control Point for examination this morning. A total of about one kilogramme of suspected methamphetamine and a small quantity of other drugs, including ketamine and ecstasy, were found from the male passenger.

The male passenger, aged 22, claimed as a waiter, was arrested for suspected drug trafficking. The case is still under investigation.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
