Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected ketamine at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point (with photo)

Hong Kong Customs yesterday (February 24) seized about 5.25 kilogrammes of suspected ketamine at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point with an estimated market value of about $735,000. A man was arrested.

Customs officers intercepted an incoming male passenger at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point yesterday evening and found the suspected drug in his rucksack.

The arrested man, aged 20, who claimed to be unemployed, was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (February 26).

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
