Customs smashes dangerous drugs distribution centre in Sham Shui Po (with photo)

Customs yesterday (October 9) arrested two men suspected of trafficking in dangerous drugs including heroin, zopiclone, midazolam, methylamphetamine and methadone solution with an estimated street value of $29,000 in Sham Shui Po.

Customs officers yesterday afternoon intercepted one of the men, aged 45, at a staircase of a building on Yee Kuk Street, Sham Shui Po and found 15 packets of heroin inside the pockets of his jeans. He was escorted to his premises where the drugs and some packing equipment were found. Another 55-year-old man was also arrested there. The two men were charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs and will appear at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (October 10).

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence which is liable to a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
