On 18 September 2025, Hong Kong Customs held a thematic sharing session for the executive members of the Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding Agents to enhance the industry's understanding of the Free Trade Agreement Transhipment Facilitation Scheme (FTA Scheme).
The sharing session focused on how the freight and logistics sector can benefit from tariff concessions under trade agreements signed between Chinese Mainland and its trading partners by participating in the FTA Scheme. Officers from the Ports and Maritime Command provided members with a detailed introduction to the Scheme's background, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding the scope of services, helping them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Scheme's operation mechanism and application principles.
