Inaugural ceremony of second term of Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones Sector Advisory Group

The Dealers in Precious Metals and Stones Sector Advisory Group has been served as a platform for Hong Kong Customs and the industry to exchange views on the regulatory regime since its establishment in 2023. The inaugural ceremony of the second term of the Advisory Group was held on 14 October, with the presentation of appointment certificates to 17 non-official members from the sector.

An Advisory Group meeting was held immediately after the ceremony, reviewing the registration situation and enforcement action, discussing the plan to assist registrants in improving their anti-money laundering mechanism and sharing information on the latest development of the industry.

Customs will continue to join hands with the Advisory Group in strengthening the compliance awareness of the industry, creating an environment for the sustainable development of the precious metals and stones industry and facilitating Hong Kong in building a premier international gold trading market.
