To further promote smart consumption among the elderly, Hong Kong Customs was invited to participate in RTHK’s television programme “香江暖流” on 23 September. During the show, the then Divisional Commander of Unfair Trade Practice Investigation Division 2, Mr Ho Chun-wing, highlighted common consumer pitfalls targeting seniors, including health product promotions in the guise of free health seminars, misleading pricing units for Chinese medicines engaged by unscrupulous stores, and ambiguous charges for home repair services. A Q&A session was featured to remind elderly to stay vigilant against unfair trade practices and protect their consumer rights.
