Outreach to tertiary institutions - enhancing students’ awareness of prohibited/controlled items and money services

From August to October, Hong Kong Customs visited eight tertiary institutions, including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University and Hong Kong Chu Hai College.

The visits aimed to familiarise non-local students with Hong Kong's regulations concerning prohibited/controlled items and money services. Customs reminded the students that importing prohibited/controlled items, whether in person or via online purchases, is illegal. Also, students were advised to patronise licensed money service operators. Other activities included campus booths and seminars, attracting over 1,000 students.
