The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Chan Tsz-tat, attended the Security Bureau and disciplined services' pledging ceremony on 8 November, together with members of the senior management, as well as representatives of the Customs YES and staff associations and unions, to show support for the 2025 Legislative Council General Election. Afterwards, the Commissioner led the team to Tsuen Wan District to encourage the public casting their valuable votes on the polling day on 7 December.

海關關長陳子達十一月八日聯同海關管理層、海關青年發展計劃及海關工會和協會代表出席保安局及紀律部隊誓師大會，支持二〇二五年立法會換屆選舉。隨後，關長率領團隊到荃灣區宣傳，呼籲市民運用其寶貴一票，於十二月七日投票日踴躍參與，為香港立法會選出有擔當、有志向、有能力的新一屆立法會議員。

In September, 33 trainees from the Inspector Induction Course participated in the 5-day National Studies and Mainland Customs Operations Course organised by the Shanghai Customs University. The delegation was led by the Commandant of the Hong Kong Customs College, Ms Angel Lau. The course featured an opening ceremony on the first day, presided over by Assistant Commissioner (Administration and Human Resource Development), Ms Phoebe Wong. The course aimed to deepen the trainees' understanding of our country's rapid growth and advanced customs operation through thematic lectures, cultural activities, and on-site teaching. Additionally, a special exchange session engaging students from the Shanghai Customs University and the trainees in various sports activities was held, fostering invaluable friendship and collaboration.

今年九月，三十三位海關督察基本訓練課程學員參與由上海海關學院主辦為期五日的國情及內地關務研習班。研習班由香港海關學院院長劉嘉欣率團參與，更邀請了海關助理關長（行政及人力資源發展）黃蕙荃主持第一日的開班儀式。研習班旨在透過主題講座、文化活動、以及現場教學以加深學員對國家發展及關務的認識。是次研習班更安排了一個特別的交流環節，讓上海海關大學的學生與學員一起參與各種體育活動，增進寶貴的友誼與合作。

On 11 September, the Assistant Commissioner (Boundary and Ports) of Customs and Excise, Ms Chiang Yi-lee, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with City University of Hong Kong (CityU) at the Customs Headquarters Building to advance the operational effectiveness of Customs detector dogs through the Smart Collar Research Project. This MOU signing not only marks a significant milestone in the partnership but also launches the Smart Collar Research Project, which aims to study, analyse, as well as optimise the utilisation of data collected from detector dogs, including heart rates, respiratory rates and temperatures, for improving enforcement capabilities and welfare standards of the detector dogs.

In recognition of the outstanding performance in safeguarding consumer rights and handling complaints, Hong Kong Customs received the Ombudsman's Awards 2025 for both the Team Award and the Individual Award. The Deputy Commissioner (Control and Enforcement) of Customs and Excise, Mr Mark Woo, led the winning team and officers to receive the awards from the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan. The Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Chan Tsz-tat, also led colleagues to attend the ceremony to show support.

From July to November, a total of 132 colleagues received promotion letters. Among the recipients, 117 were members of the Customs and Excise Service, nine were Trade Controls Officers and six were staff members of the General and Common Grades.
