35th World Customs Organization Asia/Pacific Regional Contact Points Meeting

Hong Kong Customs, in the capacity of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Vice-Chair for the Asia/Pacific (A/P) Region (APVC), hosted the 35th WCO A/P Regional Contact Points Meeting between 14 and 17 October. The meeting gathered more than 70 representatives from A/P Customs administrations and the WCO's regional entities.

The meeting concluded with fruitful outcomes, including discussions on regional development strategies, strategies of intelligence sharing and capacity building, and tactics in the fight against transnational crime syndicates together with sharing of experiences in implementing customs policies etc. The participants also took part in in-depth discussions on an innovative project named “ValidAP” initiated by Hong Kong Customs. It is a blockchain-based platform designed to facilitate instant validation of digital trade documents, aiming to accelerate regional logistics and economic development.
