Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics 2023 aimed to raise funds for athletes with intellectual disabilities. It was organized by Special Olympics Hong Kong, along with seven disciplinary forces. A kick-off ceremony took place at Sha Tin Sports Ground, with the Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, officiating. The Acting Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Lai Lau-pak, passed the torch to the Assistant Commissioner (Excise and Strategic Support) of Customs and Excise, Mr Rudy Hui, during the opening ceremony, and circled the stadium as a symbol of the eternal flame of hope.

Department staff participated in a 3.5 km run, raising a record-breaking amount of funds. A video was shared on social media to promote a healthy lifestyle and showcase the department's charitable efforts.
