"Wintery Shield" Operation - Combating Infringing Activities Across Territory

A large-scale operation codenamed “Wintery Shield" was mounted by the officers of the Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau two weeks prior to the Chinese New Year to combat infringing activities. Officers conducted high-profile patrol at 15 Lunar New Year Fairs and tourist spots in various districts to take stringent enforcement actions against infringing activities to protect consumer interests. In October and November last year, Customs officers distributed pamphlets to the successful bidders of the fair stalls to remind them to be vigilant about the authenticity of goods to avoid violating the law.

Customs spares no effort in the protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) and is committed to providing stakeholders with a level playing field for business with a view to enhancing Hong Kong's overall competitiveness.
