Customs Publicity Team reminds consumers to stay alert to prepayment terms at exhibitions

The Customs Publicity Team comprising officers from the Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau, the Trade Descriptions Investigation Bureau, and the Consumer Protection Bureau, set up promotional counters in two large-scale exhibitions, namely the Hong Kong Holiday & Travel Expo 2026 and the 121st Hong Kong Wedding Fair, in January and February respectively. The Team distributed promotional leaflets to visitors, educating them about consumer rights and highlighting the significance of considering the terms and conditions before purchasing prepaid packages, with an aim of enhancing the public awareness of “smart spending”. Meanwhile, the Team also carries out compliance promotion to remind exhibitors of the requirements under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance.
