Hong Kong Customs attends WCO meetings in Belgium, Guatemala and UAE

The Assistant Commissioner(World Customs Organization)of Customs and Excise, Mr Li Kin-kei, in the capacity of the Head of Secretariat Office of the World Customs Organization(WCO)Vice-Chairperson for the Asia/Pacific(A/P)Region, led delegations to attend the 249th/250th Sessions of the Permanent Technical Committee(PTC)in Belgium, the 93rd Session of the Policy Commission(PC)in Guatemala and the 2026 WCO Technology Conference & Exhibition in United Arab Emirates (UAE)during the period from last October to this January.

Mr Li introduced an innovative project named ValidAP, led by Hong Kong Customs, at the PTC and the WCO Technology Conference & Exhibition. ValidAP is a digital platform using cryptography and blockchain technology to provide real-time and accurate authentication service of electronic documents.

During the PC, Mr Li represented A/P members and actively participated in policy discussions to advance customs priorities and address rapidly evolving global challenges.
